Attention all student government members – we have a mandatory meeting today in Mrs. Fetter's room at the beginning of lunch. See you there!

 

PHS & THS Athletics – Tomorrow during lunch representatives from Pitman and Turlock High School will be on campus to provide information regarding their athletic programs.

 

Renaissance Rewards Raffle Tickets – If you received raffle tickets for 2nd quarter/trimester grades, Friday is the last day to place your tickets into the lottery drum which is in the office. There are several unclaimed Renaissance Rewards Cards and raffle tickets in the office.  Please come by and claim your card and tickets so you can be eligible to receive a prize!

 

Sports – Congratulations to our 7th grade Softball team who were victorious in their final game of the year against Turlock Junior High School.

 

Costa Ricastudents who did not attend last night’s meeting MUST pick up their packets today at lunch in room 21.

 

DMS vs. TJHS Staff Basketball Game – tomorrow staff members from DMS will compete against staff members from TJHS in a basketball game. The game will begin at 4 p.m. in the TJHS gym. Admission to the game is $2 for DMS and TJHS students with proof of their ID card. Proceeds from the game will go to each school’s Renaissance Rewards Programs.  We are hoping for a big DMS crowd at the game so come out and support the Diamondback staff!

 

Portuguese Club – We will be having our potluck tomorrow during lunch.  If you forgot what you have signed up to bring, or if you have not signed up yet but would like to be part of the fun, come by room 1 today during lunch!   Portuguese Club members only!

 

8th Grade Trip Scholarship – Thanks to the generosity of some DMS clubs and staff members a scholarship for the 8th grade trip to Six Flags is now available. In order to be considered for this scholarship, you must complete an application which the writing of an essay. Applications can be picked up in the office. All applications are due Wednesday, April 12.

 

Attention Students:  HYLC is planning a talent show at the end of the year in May.  If you would like to participate, please come by room 24 and sign up for the auditions next week.  Sign-ups are all this week. Hope to see you guys around!!

 

Promotion Speech try-outs – for interested 8th grade students, the Promotion speech try-outs will be Tuesday, May 2nd.  The theme for this year’s speech is Unlimited Possibilities.  There will be a meeting for all interested 8th grade students tomorrow at lunch in Room 22 to go over what we look for when judging the speeches.

 

The National Anthem try-outs will also take place Tuesday, May 2nd.

Jamba Juice Fundraiser – Attention Student selling Jamba Juice fundraiser BOGO cards for the Washington DC/New York City 2018 trip. Cards are due this week. They need to be turned into Mrs. Rogers or John in the Student Services Office by Thursday at the end of the school day. See Mrs. Rogers or John if you have any questions.

 

Slushies – Slushies will be sold this Friday in front of the library for $3. Choose from over 6 different flavors!

 

Softball and Wrestling Uniformssoftball and wrestling uniforms are due this week. Softball uniforms are turned in to Mrs. Tyler and wrestling uniforms are turned in to Blanco.

 

Book Fair – The book fair will be held in the Library from April 10th-13th. It will be open during lunch and after school until 4pm. There will be a Family Event from 5pm-7pm during Open House on April 12th. Bring your family for a chance to win a raffle price worth $100.

 

8th Graders Promotion Trip to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom – Hurry and buy your ticket before they sell out.   This promises to be a fun and memorable trip.   Don’t miss out.  Students hoping to attend must meet the eligibility criteria.

Spirit Competition Congratulations to Mrs. Espinoza's homeroom for winning the spirit competition for having 80% of their homeroom dressed up on Friday!  You will have donuts delivered to your homeroom today!!!

 

Builder’s Club – Builder’s Club would like to thank everyone who contributed to Pennies for Patients.  Ms. Duffy’s homeroom class collected the most money with $314.52.  They will receive a pizza party on Friday during lunch.  The 3 students who collected the most money and who will receive Oak Barrel gift cards are: Nathaniel Piro with $95.00, Riley Cade with $75.00 and Antone Pereira with $50.00.  Please come to room 14 to collect your prizes.  The total donated to Pennies for Patients was $818.62. Great job Dutcher! We exceeded our goal of $800.00.  Thank you so much, Ms. Selee.
